ProCorM Tennis Court Crack Repair & Maintenance

Although All- Weather Tennis Courts are essentially maintenance-free, periodic crack repair
and refinishing are necessary. 5-7 years is the expected length of time before a quality painted
surface might need crack repair and repainting.
Cracking is probably the most common problem with asphalt tennis courts. As asphalt weathers
it will lose its integrity, paint fades and cracks can develop. Extreme temperature changes
cause expansion and contraction which may result in cracks.
Most contractors simply install crack filler over the cracks. However, almost without exception
these repair techniques will fail within one year, as they are considered a “band-aid” type of
repair, thus wasting both time and money.

ProCorM uses the ARMOR® Crack Repair System. The ARMOR® Crack Repair System utilizes a
knitted fabric that will expand as the crack widens. The secret to making this repair work is how
it is purposely NOT bonded to the court in the vicinity of the crack, thereby allowing more of
the fabric to absorb any movement or growth of the crack without the fabric tearing or
delaminating from the surface. Thus, the reason why the ARMOR® Crack Repair System works
so well is that it effectively spreads the stress of the crack over a wide area of expandable
fabric-other brand name repair “systems” do not do this. The court can then be painted.
Depending on your budget, you can choose to paint the areas repaired or the entire court.
Either way, the result is a professional, playable tennis court.
